Sure things have been rough, but at least there's electricity! No matter how bad things get, there's one lesson that you can take from history, back in the 1800s, things were a whole lot worse. Life was difficult in these days when you had to collect water, pluck chickens and antibiotics didn't even exist. Visit Locust Grove and get an up-close look at what life was like back in those "good old" days. You'll be loving your streaming services more and more.
Locust Grove from the Outside In
Visit Locus Grove this June, a 19th-century farm that is one of the city's most stunning historic attractions. Take a tour of the outbuildings and fields that sustained life here and had everyone working from sunup to sundown. You will be outside exploring the outbuildings, grounds and gardens of this beautiful estate, so be sure to wear shoes that can get muddy.
Admission to this special tour is $12 per person. The tour begins at 11 am and you will need to make reservations in advance. Locust Grove is at 561 Blankenbaker Lane. This historic estate is surrounded by the Indian Hills neighborhood. If you like luxury and natural beauty in the same place, you're going to love Indian Hills.
Visit Indian Hills
Not only does Indian Hills surround a beautiful historic property, but it's also next to the gorgeous grounds of the Louisville Country Club. Indian Hills spreads all the way to the river. The Louisville Boat Club is here, along with the Different Strokes Golf Center.
A natural waterway winds its way through the neighborhood, creating beautiful natural rock outcroppings and supplying moisture for the trees scattered all over Indian Hills. The winding streets and cul-de-sacs will lead you past many areas of this neighborhood that aren't developed. They're left natural to provide incredible scenery for the huge, custom-built homes that make this neighborhood so distinct.
Indian Hills is a place for luxury and privacy. The big homes are spread out and they're surrounded by Nature. These houses have big kitchens, beautiful outdoor living spaces, hardwood floors, custom cabinets, spa bathrooms, big closets, you know, all those things you put on your list of a perfect home. The dream home you've been thinking about is probably already in Indian Hills. Go get a look at this neighborhood this June and go find it!
